Nurse Aide Train the Trainer

State of Michigan Requirements

This training is not required but will meet one of the State of Michigan's criteria to become an instructor. Completing the LeadingAge Michigan Nurse Aide Train-The-Trainer program does not guarantee a participant will meet the requirements as a Qualified Instructor of Nurse Aide Training Programs with the State of Michigan.

Before registering for the workshop, we strongly recommend reviewing the State of Michigan Nurse Aide Trainer Application to determine if you meet the state's requirements.

Nurse Aide Training Program - Qualified Instructor Information

The LeadingAge Michigan Adult Learning Principles training meets the requirements in item C of the application. The program certificate of attendance will be used as verification when submitting your application to the State of Michigan.

The State of Michigan Nurse Aide Trainer Application and required supporting documents must be submitted directly to LARA. If you have questions regarding qualification requirements or the application process, please call LARA at (517) 896-0511.

Nurse Aide Train-The-Trainer: Adult Learning Theories

The Nurse Aide Train-The-Trainer program is a 3-part live webinar series which discusses the educational process, understanding the adult learner, instructor and student learning styles, developing learning objectives with measurable outcomes, instructional design, the training evaluation process, teaching techniques, adult learner engagement and retention, teaching adults with special needs, program objectives and behavioral objectives. This workshop is not required by the State of Michigan but will meet one of the State's requirements to become a qualified instructor. Training materials will be provided electronically prior to each webinar.

The Nurse Aide Train-The-Trainer: Adult Learning Theories program does not provide content, instructional design or teaching materials for individual nurse aide programs.

Program Schedule

To receive your certificate of attendance and your continuing education credit you must be a registered participant, provide a unique email address during the online registration process, log in via GoToWebinar for each live session and attend all three live webinars in their entirety.

How to Register for the Workshop

To apply for the workshop:

1. If you don't already have one, create a username and password through LeadingAge Michigan by clicking "Join" at the top of the web page.
2. Chose your date below and click on the link to be directed to the event page.
3. From the event page, click on register and follow steps to sign up for the workshop.

All registrations fees for the workshop must be prepaid. Please use the credit card option during registration checkout.

Continuing Education

LeadingAge Michigan (WNA-0558-001) is an approved provider of continuing education by the Wisconsin Nurses Association, as accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. This educational activity is approved for six (6) nurse continuing education contact hours.

Completion Requirements for Continuing Education

- Register online using a unique email address.
- Log in via GoToWebinar at the beginning of the event.
- Attend all three live webinars in their entirety.
- Completion of the online evaluation at the conclusion of the 3rd live webinar.
- Once the evaluation is complete you can access your certificate on, This certificate provides verification of attendance and can be used as supporting documentation with your State of Michigan Nurse Aide Trainer Application. This certificate does not mean that you are an approved Qualified Instructor with the State of Michigan.

Live Webinar Disclosures

  • Live interaction and Q&A with the presenter will be available throughout each webinar.
  • Live participation is required. The webinar series is not offered as self-directed learning.
  • You must attend all three live webinars to receive a certification of attendance.
  • The webinar series will not be recorded.
  • Recording of the webinars, audio or video, is strictly prohibited.
