Advocacy - Our members receive comprehensive representation on state level (LeadingAge Michigan serves as an advocate for its members in state general assembly meetings, regulatory agencies and variety of other related organizations) and federal level through work of our national partner LeadingAge.

Information - LeadingAge Michigan regularly communicates with members through bi-weekly e-newsletter, The Latest Wrinkle, and Member Updates about current events and time sensitive issues. Our staff is a reliable source of information on variety of senior related topics always available to assist our members.

Education
- LeadingAge Michigan develops and delivers high quality educational programs on topics that are critically important to long term care providers. Members benefit from the many educational opportunities available through the association, enabling them to learn and grow, manage change, implement cost effective practices, and provide the highest level of services to seniors.   

Networking & Collaborating - Members benefit from shared knowledge and build relationships with peers from other mission driven organizations within the state of Michigan and throughout the country. Our members are colleagues who collaborate to enhance the welfare of the aging population. 

Involvement - Members have variety of opportunities to get involved and become part of the solution by serving on member committees and task forces, and by engaging in the legislative process (testifying in front of legislative committees or state agencies, creating white papers.)

Savings - Members are invited to take advantage of Business Alliance and Value First - a group purchasing organization owned by LeadingAge and 24 LeadingAge affiliates in partnership with MedAssets. Value First offers a collective buying power of over 6,000 senior care providers and over 400 contracts negotiated specifically for customers whose mission is better care and better outcomes for older adults.

LeadingAge Insights – A set of business intelligence tools helping you better understand your performance and market position, including easy access to experts in the field.

LeadingAge Quality Metrics - An interactive set of data tools assists nursing homes in analyzing how they measure up to peers, demonstrate value, and can improve performance. Using Nursing Home and Home Health Compare data, members can get comparisons against nearby or comparably sized providers. It also offers a tool to help predict Five-Star status and provide guidance on how to increase your rating.

Listservs – Nearly 30 active listservs where members collaborate on things such as best practices, strategic plans, policies, contracts, vendor contacts, and more. Listservs cover almost every topic area such as adult day, CCRC, elder justice, HCBS, marketing and philanthropy— just to name a few.

Job Market - Members can post job openings at no cost on our employment clearinghouse, Career Center,  which is custom tailored for the aging services industry and draws qualified talented candidates.
